Dental Implants
Dental implants are considered the most realistic replacements for missing teeth. The titanium implants are placed in the jawbone and anchor individual crowns or bridges in the same way a natural tooth root would. The results are replacement teeth that can look great, feel secure, and function optimally.
Implant Supported Dentures – All-on-4
Implant supported dentures are a popular, state-of-the-art alternative to traditional dentures. Instead of relying on suction and/or adhesives to keep dentures in place, implant supported dentures are secured and stabilized by strategically placed dental implants, which make them look, feel, and function more like a natural set of teeth.
Full Mouth Rehabilitation
When teeth and gums have become damaged by extensive disease, decay, erosion, and/or injury, a custom full mouth rehabilitation treatment plan can help. Full mouth rehabilitation combines multiple restorative procedures and other dental treatments to target problem areas, improve oral health, rebuild dental structure/strength, and create a natural-looking smile.
Sedation Dentistry
For patients who have a fear of going to the dentist, require extensive treatment, or just prefer to relax comfortably during dental visits, we offer effective sedation dentistry services. Based on your specific needs, medical history, and other important factors, your dentist may recommend either nitrous oxide gas, oral conscious sedation, or intravenous (IV) sedation. Your safety during sedation is our primary concern and at every stage of the process our team is attentive to your condition and vital signs.
If you would like to learn more about how sedation can improve your dental experience, contact our office to ask questions or schedule a consultation.
TMJ Treatment
The jaw joint is located just in front of each ear. It is a complex joint which has many muscles controlling it. Many people experience severe pain in and around the joint for a number of reasons. The pain can be sharp, right in the area of the joint, or it may feel like an earache. Discomfort may be persistent, and often severe headaches result. People with TMJ problems may also experience muscle spasms in the neck, back, and/or shoulders.
An improperly aligned bite (malocclusion) or persistent teeth grinding/clenching can cause TMJ disorder. Grinding and clenching is often related to high stress levels. Correcting a poor bite and reducing stress can be ideal options; however, immediate relief is often needed in addition to these longer term strategies.
Grinding, clenching, and malocclusion can cause the muscles that control the jaw to be overworked, which can lead to muscle fatigue and spasms—that is when the pain begins. To reduce these symptoms, a custom oral appliance that allows the muscles to rest can be worn over the teeth. Various medications, massages, moist heat, and even physical therapy can help reduce TMJ pain as well.
If you are experiencing any TMJ symptoms, prompt treatment is the ideal way to prevent your condition from worsening. Without intervention from a highly trained dentist, the joint can become permanently damaged which may require surgical repair. The best thing to do is contact our office immediately to schedule an evaluation. Our goal is to get you on the road to recovery and relief.
Bone Grafting
Dental implants require ample jawbone density for a strong foundation. If patients don’t have sufficient tissue density, bone grafting can enhance the integrity of a patient’s jaw so that it can properly support the implants. Dr. Shen can perform a thorough assessment of your jawbone and oral structures in order to determine if a bone graft is a necessary step in your implant treatment plan.
Gum Grafting
Gum thinning and recession can lead to a range of oral health concerns, including an increased risk of tooth decay, tooth loss, and tooth sensitivity. Gum grafting allows patients to restore lost gum volume and cover exposed tooth roots, improving both oral health outcomes and smile aesthetics.
